CIU Prays for Ukraine

Noting that there are 小猪视频 graduate students and alumni serving in Ukraine, CIU began Authority of Scripture Week Prayer Day on Feb. 24 with prayer for the region following Russia鈥檚 attack on the country.

CIU President , who has been travelling, encouraged prayer for the situation in an email to faculty and staff saying that his 鈥渉eart is so heavy for this nation. It has many Christians and has sought to be free.

鈥淚 also thought of all the children who are fearful,鈥 Smith added. 鈥淚 thought of all the souls that are not ready to meet God who will die. My heart was so heavy.鈥

Meanwhile, in Shortess Chapel, there was a moment of personal prayer for Ukraine, followed by Bible Studies Chair praying, 鈥淲e are grieved by seeing acts of aggression and hostilities and warfare.鈥

鈥淔ather we pray for peace and the preservation of life,鈥 he continued, 鈥淲e pray for your people in Ukraine and in Russia and in surrounding countries.鈥

He also prayed that believers in the region would have clear resolve to trust in God.

鈥淲e thank you that you are the Sovereign One 鈥 One that is in control of all things,鈥 he added.

As Naylor prayed on the stage of the Chapel, with CIU鈥檚 motto 鈥淭o Know Him and to Make Him Known,鈥 prominently displayed, Naylor added:

鈥淢ay your Name be known.鈥

Meanwhile, News 19 WLTX TV in Columbia caught up with CIU alumnus Vladislav Hruntkovskyi, a native of Ukraine who is now living in Kentucky. He is concerned for his family in Ukraine, including his father who serves as a pastor there. from Rachel Ripp.听
