On a crisp, sunny spring morning, students searching for both careers and summer jobs met employers looking to fill new openings and secure interns. As was the case at the fall career fair, various for-profit and nonprofit organizations showcased their employment opportunities. Multiple institutions have established themselves as regulars at this event, including , and .
Many new faces were also present such as on the corporate side, and on the ministry side, , represented by program director Jason Arrington.
鈥淥ur basis is Scripture, and we鈥檙e looking for people who understand that and understand the need for the gospel and are willing to share that with the campers,鈥 Arrington said. 鈥淪taff members have the responsibility of the campers鈥 well-being, watching over them and protecting them is a big aspect of the job. It鈥檚 an all-day job, but it is so much fun and there is never a dull moment.鈥
Another company setting up shop on CIU鈥檚 campus for the first time was , an insurance service company.
鈥淲e make insurance fun,鈥 exclaimed their team of representatives. 鈥淲e look for people who align with our culture and values. We鈥檙e people first, and we will work to match a new hire to a job that fits both their skillset and growth potential.鈥
Other notable participants included Christian schools and churches. Among them was听in Cayce, represented by current CIU student Trevor Morgan, the church鈥檚 youth pastor. 听
Jonathan Lawrence, who has become Chick-fil-A鈥檚 flagship spokesperson at CIU, had exciting news to share about possible benefits offered to Chick-fil-A employees.
鈥淲e are working on a partnership with CIU that will offer tuition assistance to CIU students working at our restaurant,鈥 Lawrence said, noting that employees will receive other benefits after working one year with the company, including healthcare coverage and a free gym membership.
鈥淲e want to invest in our team members,鈥 Lawrence added. 鈥淲e want their experience working at Chick-fil-A to be valuable and something that they can build on as they move through life. I think that is what sets us apart.鈥澨 听听听
